Native American Legends That Will Scare The Moccasin's off of You!

In nearly all cultures, myths and legends can serve as cautionary tales, keeping one foot in practical reality and the other in the realm of the supernatural… and it’s no surprise that the most effective cautionary tales are also the scariest.
The ancient lore of the indigenous peoples of North America are as varied and far-reaching as the continent itself, and unless you’re well-versed in native lore, you might not realize how many of those tales are populated by horrifying spirits, ghosts, witches, demons and monsters… and since we’re in the scare business, we’re going to share the most nightmarish ones with you.
Many of the frightening creatures listed below span multiple tribes — and in some cases, hundreds of generations. So if you investigate their origins further, you’ll see they have many different names and traits, depending on where their tales are told.
In other words, there are evil forces lurking everywhere… so you’d better do your homework!

The Chronicles of Dirty Dog~A Loyal Hard Nosed Canine's Crime Fighting, Cat Chasing & Wonderous Adventures

Dirty Dog was a good dog, but he had a two pack a day cigarette habbit, drank like a fish, and he loved them bitches.
He had a heart of gold, loyal, and could sniff out them trouble starting alley cats in a hurricane fifty miles away, with his head under water.

Tommy cat was Dirty Dog's mortal enemy, and his army of strays kept Dirty Dog on the pads of his paws, and was sometimes overwhelming, being that the cats had nine lives, and he only had one. So he decided to put an add in The detective magazine "Coondog Detective" to find a loyal assistant, with a nose to sniff out kitty crime.
That's when Louie the Labrador, a loyal Labrador from Louisville answered the the add, and began working with Dirty Dog to clean up the fish bone, and hairball littered streets, and putting an end to the illegal cat nip trade.
Their first mission was to clean up China town, where Tommy cat, and his gang of alley cats layer was located. Tommy cat was a Siamese cat, and wore a golden satin jacket with a red dragon on the back. They called him the Boss of China town, and with his claws sunk deep in the illegal trafficking of car nip, and his underground business of mice fur coats, he was always looking for ways to bring Mayhem to the streets, and keep our doggie duo off his trail.

The adventure begins, stay tuned for the first chapter in the Chronicles of Dirty Dog!

Chester Le Crow & Captain Beautiful~Chapter 1~ A Bond Sealed in Glittery Warm Purple

So in our introduction, we learned how Captain Beautiful had brought Chester LeCrow back to life and had asked the lovely corvid to be his forever companion, guide, and spotter of all things that sparkle. And that is where we left off. It must be remembered that Chester returned to life not realizing he had died, and quite confused about what had happened--and especially that he could actually understand the words of this strange man.

The Magical Almost Life & Tall Tales of Chester Le Crow & Captain Beautiful

Chester LeCrow is originally from the cemetery on Capitol Hill... his family are the ones that look after Bruce & Brandon Lee's graves... and a fine family it IS!

One day, a few years ago, Chester ventured off into Belltown... presumably drawn to the fabulous neon martini that adorns the Nitelite. He perched upon the roof for many days & nights, curious what sort of shiny things passersby might leave behind.

Watch as he may, he spotted very little of interest to him--yes, there were the occasional coins & dime store bracelets. He even spied a topaz stone encased in a sterling ring once, too many bottle caps to count, and the pimento from an olive that somehow rolled out onto the sidewalk.

And then finally one surprisingly un-dreary night, down the sidewalk (just before last call, I believe it was) strolled a figure that seemed to encompass every form of sparkle & shine all at once! From the tips of the hair upon his head, all the way down to his glittered hi-tops--and all points between--there was nothing but sparkle & shine. Chester was mystified of course, and wondered how such a creature could exist.

The sparkly being disappeared from sight into the Nitelite, and Chester craned his neck as far as he could to see it enter. And then the unthinkable happened! Chester, having been overwhelmed by so much sparkle, lost track of his balance, and down he fell. Poor Chester LeCrow!

Chester lie unnoticed upon the sidewalk, at least one broken wing, and severe damage to his internal organs. He would have cried had he the strength, but alas, he could only sigh. He took what would surely be his last breath... and it was.

But no, that was not his ending... only a new beginning. For while Chester's blood still warmed the concrete, the sparkly being staggered out through the door of the Nitelite. The sparkly being spied the poor dead bird upon the sidewalk, and its heart broke. He knelt down before the lifeless crow, and touched two of his painted fingers to Chester's head, and shed three tears.

Completely unaware of what had happened, Chester LeCrow felt life return to him, and he moved his head ever so slightly. There it was... and there HE was! He was alive somehow... how could it be? He felt strength in his wings--even his broken one--and moved them slightly in disbelief. Yes...they could move!

The sparkly being tapped on Chester's beak then stood tall. "It's nice to meet you my friend," the sparkly being said. "I'm Captain Beautiful. Will you be my companion and guide, my spotter of all things that sparkle?"

The rest, as they say, is history. That is how Captain Beautiful & Chester LeCrow met... and became forever companions and allies.

This is only the beginning of the chronicles of Chester and his many colorful friends and hilarious stories, so far centered around Seattle in the late '80s and early '90s, giving this series the perfect grunge'esque writing Xanaland readers and followers will love!
