Words & Music by Rane Stone~ A Lyrical Tribute to Andrew Wood

I asked Rane to write something for Andrew, on this day --
the 25th anniversary of his death. I love it! I think it's honest
and spontaneous. Humorous and insightful. It's perfect and
I can't wait to hear it put to music.

Hookers & Fishing Poles~For Andrew Wood (Landrew)

As I crossed the river Jordan

I looked back at all of my
friends

Your faces hung with sadness

Cuz' you knew I'd reached my end

Don't you pray for my forgiveness

No don't you cry for my legacy

Cuz' I'm leaving here on my terms

And I've finally found me some peace

That's cuz' I'm gone, gone, gone

I ain't ever coming back, hell no

That fuckin' place was a shit hole disgrace

And I'm sick of how ya'll bitched and ya moaned

Don't you say hello to heaven

Don't don't you say a single word for me

Cuz' I ain't comin' back for nothin'

I am right where I'm supposed to be

And the fires of Hell are lyin'

There ain't no Devil here waitin' for me

I guess he knew I'd take over

Cuz' he left all of his women for me
Yeah well, I'm gone, gone, gone

I ain't ever coming back, hell no

That fuckin' place was a shit hole disgrace

And I'm sick of how ya'll bitched and ya moaned

Yeah I'm gone, gone, gone

I ain't ever coming back, fuck no

I got a suitcase of beer

Hunting twelve point buck deers

And the hookers hold my fishin' pole

I've been fishing in Heaven's fountains

I've been layin' rubber on those golden streets

And the "Angels Take" of whiskey

Is the best god damn sippin' you'll drink

And the weed up here in Heaven

Is the greenest shit you've ever seen

And I've learned myself a lesson

Of what perfect life livin' can be
Yeah well, I'm gone, gone, gone

I ain't ever coming back, hell no

That fuckin' place was a shit hole disgrace

And I'm sick of how ya'll bitched and ya moaned

Yeah I'm gone, gone, gone

I ain't ever coming back, fuck no

I got a suitcase of beer

Hunting twelve point buck deers

And the hookers hold my fishin' pole
